Olsen Twins no longer "got milk"

Anyone recognize these ladies? All grown up indeed. The Olsen twins were the face of the "got milk" campaign back in 2004. Everyone remembers these ladies in their prime, but does anyone know their offer was revoked after circulation of pictures in the tabloids that revealed that one of the Olsen's, Mary-Kate, was only 18 at the time, but suffering severely from an eating disorder. It appeared that the actress was actually getting "no milk" at all. You can't have one without the other though right?

Shortly after these pictures were released, the ads were removed from all magazines, and the campaign quickly came to an end. In my opinion, these two girls are already not looking their healthiest (too skinny?) The body image milk is portraying in these ads are unrealistic and insulting towards women everywhere. Constantly, women are being scrutinized for their weight and body figure, meanwhile magazines are filled with ads of overly thin size double zero starving females who clearly haven't eaten a carb in months.

Since when did it become sexy to see protruding hip bones and stick figure legs? I am disgusted this ad was even published in the first place. If Milk did not see that at least one out of the two was already suffering from an eating disorder before choosing them to represent their brand, Milk is the only one at fault here. Revoking their offer from the Olsen twins was not a wrong choice, nor was it a right one. Because of all the ads already placed in magazines with females such as this, removing the ad was pointless. People who saw the ad prior to the pictures or rumors released was most likely already under the impression that these girls were lacking any nutrition they would have got from milk or any fruit/vegetable.

Once again, just another celebrity endorsement turned epic fail. To see additional info on the ad and campaign click here.
